Academic Programmes

The Jonathan Edwards Centre Africa at the University of the Free State offers accredited (post) graduate studies (Master and PhD), Postdoctoral Research studies, colloquia, seminars and short-learning programmes (online and class). The programmes are focused on primary source material contributing to research, education and publication. The programs, furthermore, concentrate in the wide field of Edwards studies including, but not limited to, historical, sociological, legal, theological, philosophical context and trajectories. Master studies are internationally recognized and accepted for PhD programmes, including, but not limited to, the VU Amsterdam University, The Netherlands. PhD studies at the Jonathan Edwards Centre Africa at the University of the Free State will be published by internationally recognized academic publishers such as Peter Lang (USA) and Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht (Germany). 

The Jonathan Edwards Centre Africa at the University of the Free State adheres to the The Chicago Manual of Stylea widely used and respected style guide for editorial practice, American English grammar, and document preparation (academic paper, thesis, dissertation). Its sixteen editions have prescribed writing and citation styles widely used in publishing.
