| Kovsie Open Day, 1 May 2010
|
The Kovsie Open Day takes place on Saturday, 1 May 2010. The Open Day provides prospective students and their parents with the opportunity to come and sample the distinctive quality we offer students as they prepare for work and for life. It also allows our future students to seek out information to help them decide on study directions and careers.
This year several of the top matriculants of 2009 chose to start their academic careers at Kovsies. Students like Portia Lehasa, former head girl of Eunice High School, who obtained five distinctions. Portia studies towards the B. Acc. degree and resides in Roosmaryn Residence. Or students like Meyer Joubert, former head boy of Ferdinand Postma Secondary School in Potchefstroom, who obtained seven distinctions. He is a first-year medical student and resides in Abraham Fischer Residence.
The Kovsie Open Day takes place in the Callie Human Centre on the Main Campus of the UFS in Bloemfontein on Saturday, 1 May 2010. The Official Opening will start at 09:00 with a welcoming address by the Rector, followed by introductions of the various deans of faculties. The President of our Student Representative Council (SRC), Moses Masitha, and the Dean of Student Affairs, Rudi Buys, will also be introduced to prospective students and parents of the university.
At 11:00 prospective students and their parents will be visiting the university’s respective Faculties and their facilities. Our students and residences will present an exciting programme in front of the Main Building.
