The Centre for Business Dynamics will help you and your

The general OBJECTIVES of the Centre include the following:
- To help companies and individuals stay competitive by bridging the gap between existing skills and competencies in their working environment, and those required.
- To help the business sector in general to face the challenges of radical innovation and change by making their human capital and business models revolution ready.
The Centre for Business Dynamics, as commercial unit of the School, was founded in January 2004 and offers generic certificate programme such as the MDP (Management Development Programme) and MPP (Management Preparation Programme), tailor-made MDPs for several companies, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Tax Strategy and Management, and in-house customised short learning programme. We have a Black Economic Empowerment Unit that runs various BEE related executive programmes as well as a MDP in BEE. We also offer a High Performing Directors and Governance Programme. The Centre is also in partnership with the Arbinger Institute in the US and offers “The Choice” (Leadership & Self-Deception) and“World Class Leadership” training in SA. The Centre is also establishing itself as a leader in ways to preserve, manage and preserve institutional memory.
Lastly, but not least, we also offer three very unique leadership programmes – ‘Leadership is the connection economy’, ‘Creating leadership and personal capacity in women’ and ‘Leading: a programme for Executives’. We were the first institution in the country to offer a leadership programme dedicated to women and the success of the programme is evident in the number of institutions and organisations in the country that enrolled students.

The mission of the Centre for Business Dynamics is to offer customised training and development solutions of the highest quality and relevance, in order to ensure that the skills and competencies of companies and individuals is up to date and that they can cope effectively with the radical innovation and change in their environments, thereby enhancing their ability to achieve success.

It is also important to note that many of our short courses count credits towards some of the formal qualifications within the School of Management (specific Certificate and Degree programmes).

Danie Jacobs completed his B.Soc.Sc, B.Soc.Sc (Honns), M.Soc.Sc, M.Ed, and MBA degrees at the University of the Free State. He founded the Centre for Business Dynamics, commercial unit of the Business School at the University of the Free State and also started ILSC (Pty) Ltd, a consulting firm, that specialises in strategic positioning of business models and change management. Danie acts as organisational change and strategic positioning facilitator at various companies and public sector institutions. He also lecturs ‘Leading Innovation and Change’ within the MBA programme. |
