Directors' Forum

Directors of University Centres focusing on Social Justice, Diversity and Transformation met at the UFS on 16 October 2014 to establish the Directors' Forum. The Forum discussed the state of higher education transformation in South Africa and decided to collaboratively host an International Conference on New Geographies of Race in South Africa in January 2016. The Forum also explored various collaborations on research, teaching and learning and community engagement; funding and support networks; and student and staff exchanges.

The Forum consists of the following members: The Institute for Reconciliation and Social Justice (UFS: Prof Andre Keet); The Wits Centre for Diversity Studies (Wits: Prof Melissa Steyn); The Centre for the Advancement of Non-racialism and Democracy (NMMU: Mr Allan Zinn); and The Centre for Critical Research on Race and Identity (UKZN: Prof Rozena Maart).
