Short CV

Since 2001, dr. Langner is lecturing Physical Chemistry to undergraduate as well as honours students.  Ernie obtained his Ph.D. in 2009 with his research on Phthalocyanine-Polymer systems with biomedical application.  Parts of this research was done in overseas laboratories: University of East Anglia, England and University of Tromsø, Norway.

From June 2009 till June 2010 he visited the Schuit Institute for Catalysis at the Eindhoven University of Technology for a post-doctoral year.  Here he took part in a research project on flat surface models of Ziegler-Natta catalysts under the guidance of prof. Hans Niemantsverdriet.

Since 2012, dr. Langner`s research is focussed on the synthesis and application of Metal Organic Frameworks (MOF`s) with applications in heterogeneous catalysis, gas storage and –separation, as well as the use thereof as drug carriers.  Some of these materials also exist as nanoparticles, thus broadening its applicability.  This field of research already produced nine M.Sc. and five PhD graduandi.

Since 2015, dr. Langner was promoted to senior lecturer and from 2016 he is the head of the Physical Chemistry Section.
