Abraham Fischer – Per Ardua ad Honesta, 'Through Diligence to Glory'

House Abraham Fischer or Vishuis as its popularly known, a national monument at the UFS Bloemfontein campus, is a highly cherished building with a special place on the campus as the oldest residence for student accommodation.

The building is part of the campus fabric, with similarities in design styles of the prestigious main building and centenary complex. The building has been more than just a building, but a home to many great men of industry, whom we are proud to call our alumni. The brotherhood that exists in the house, allows for lifelong bonds and memories to last a lifetime.

As part of the campus, culture and Kovsie student life, the residence members have the opportunity to express themselves through academic, cultural and sporting activities and remains a house of excellence that is ready to inspire and to be inspired. With a vibrant and continually transforming space, the environment remains open to students from all walks of life to participate in the residential programmes and stamp their mark within this diverse space.  We strive to create a sense of belonging for each of our 122 students as we strive in the spirit of our motto, Per Ardua ad Honesta (Through Diligence to Glory).

We therefore welcome and invite you to Abraham Fischer, to be part of a brotherhood of excellence.
