Institutional Information Systems (IIS) is the unit at the university that provides management information and analysed data to various internal and external stakeholders. This includes support to Academic Planning and Monitoring by providing relevant institutional information in various areas of concern.

Our staff within this unit have experience working with various datasets and data models, including the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) requirements for Higher Education Management Information System data (HEMIS), Higher Education Data Analyser (HEDA), Student Record datasets like Enrolments, Headcounts, Graduates, and Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) and staff downloads from the Department of Human Resources.

As for the HEMIS reporting, this unit is primarily responsible for the accurate and reliable information requirements of the four DHET datasets, namely; Students, Staff, Space, and Postdoctoral information.
