Kovsie day-residence registrations for 2020 are now open, apply now!

Will you be staying off campus in 2020? Are you looking for a home away from home? If so, then the University of the Free State (UFS) calls on you to join a Kovsie day residence to enjoy an enriching student-life experience throughout your studies!

According to Gernus Terblanche, Student Representative Council SRC for Day Residences, “Kovsie day residences are spaces that have been created for off-campus students to allow them to participate in all UFS student-life activities. This is to ensure that students have the opportunity to express themselves and experience academic and social growth throughout their university careers.”

Day residences provide off-campus students with many exciting opportunities to participate in activities, including varsity sports, culture, social activities, dialogues, concerts, and academic support. These spaces are also beneficial to first-year students who are struggling with registration processes and finding their way around campus.

Kovsie day residences have specifically been developed to provide you with the full student-life experience.

The UFS Bloemfontein Campus houses a total of seven diverse residences, namely:

Arista Female Residence: 073 111 7306

Imperium Co-ed Residence: 081 370 6756

Kagiso Co-ed Residence: 081 005 8987

Veritas Male Residence: 079 693 1445

Sonnedou Female Residence: 079 504 9553

Marjolein Female Residence: 083 230 7153

Legatum Male Residence: 060 321 9072

We encourage students to complete the commuter-student survey, which was created to solicit information from students in order to help improve the safety, inclusion, and support provided to UFS off-campus students.
