Apprendre le français donne des ailes

The beautiful French language is one of the major languages spoken in Western Europe, the West Indies, Polynesia and large parts of the African continent. Closer to home, French is one of the official working languages of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), and Southern African Development Community (SADC). Knowledge of French opens doors to various professional and academic opportunities around the world.

With the accent on language excellence, the French Division offers two Short Learning Programmes (SLP) that lay the foundation to basic communication in French. A balanced focus on the four main communicative competencies allows the student to perceive the francophone world in new light.

These non credit-bearing SLP run alternatively each semester with 4 contact hours per week.

For more information regarding course codes, class times and fees please contact the French Section.
