During the July holidays department Afrikaans and Dutch presented the Poort Workshop for young writers.  Thirteen pupils attended the workshop. These pupils were the top participants in the Poort writing competition hosted by the SA Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns.  The presenters of the workshop were Fanie Viljoen and Lynthia Julius.
