Personal data used for online Convocation election(s)

According to its constitution, the Convocation promotes, protects, exercises, and maintains the rights and responsibilities of the university. It also takes an interest in matters pertaining to the governance, administration and academic interests of the UFS and in making recommendations to the Council of the UFS in this regard. In fulfilment of these aims, the Convocation has four elected representatives on the UFS Council.

From time to time, Convocation members are invited to participate in Convocation or Council elections. As part of the university’s duty to ensure a fair and transparent vote, we will contract a third party that specialises in online elections to manage the process on our behalf.

A convocation member's name, surname, RSA ID, university ID, and cellphone number will be shared in a secure manner with the contracted third party. This information will be used only for delivering a successful online voting process and to ensure the correct individuals are part of the process at the correct times.

To ensure your participation in forthcoming elections, please update your information here.

If you have queries, or would like to request that your information not be used in online Convocation elections, please contact us by 16:30 on Friday 28 August 2020.
