Onnies en Ouers is a hilarious comedy set in the “platteland”. After their school burned down, the teachers and students of Rosendal (an all girl school) are relocated by the department to other accommodations. Due to confusion at the department Rosendal ends up at Keiserkroon (an all boys school), this being the start of all the chaos. With the help of both schools’ teachers, the headmasters try desperately to keep the visiting parents (a pastor and farmer) from finding out the truth. The whole situation turns into a battle of the sexes. After all, there is a very good reason why the parents sent their children to the respective school, and not to a mixed school. When news arrives that a third school is to share their facilities, the current dilemma is soon forgotten.

A fun filled comedy for a fun filled evening. Afrikaans translation of John Dighton’s “The Happiest days of Your Life” by AJB de Klerk. Directed by Thys Heydenrych. 18 - 20 May, Wynand Mouton Theatre at 19h30. Tickets available at Computicket or at the doors. Age restriction of 13 Language.
