The Western Cape based early music group "Cape Consort", directed by Hans Huyssen and Andrew Cruickshank, is performing a concert of Monteverdi madrigals in the Odeion on 1 October as part of the Odeion Musik Fest. The UFS tenor Lance Phillip is a member of this group, and for this recital UFS mezzo soprano, Matildie Thom Wium, will be joining them together with two acclaimed Baroque violinists from the Netherlands (Antoinette Lohmann and Arjen de Graaf). On 30 September the group will present a lecture about their concert and about early music performance practice in general.
