You are cordially invited to attend the second performance of the newly established Kovsie String Ensemble. This ensemble was established at the beginning of 2009 with the aim of giving students the much needed instruction in ensemble playing and to build repertoire. The ensemble is led by mrs Anmari van der Westhuizen who studied at the University of Stellenbosch, at the Mozarteum (Salzburg) and at the Hochschule für Musik (Köln). She has been the conductor and director of the UCT String Ensemble since 1999, and spent eight years (1988 – 1996) as soloist and chamber musician in Europe. Anmari is currently member of the Odeion String Quartet.

Requiem for 6 celli (David Popper, arr. Werner Thomas-Mifune)
Cafetin de Buenos Aires (Argentine Tango) for 6 celli (Mariano Mores, arr. Werner Thomas-Mifune)
