Research:

I am a Lecturer in the Department of Geography, presenting courses on physical and human geography, as well as geomorphology.

My research is in the field of environmental management, specifically climate change, community-conservation conflicts, montane communities, and livelihoods. I am currently working on my PhD, seeking to address conservation conflicts between montane communities and protected areas in a mountain environment with an evolving climate.

Some of my career highlights include being selected for the University Staff Doctoral Programme (USDP) in a SA-USA collaboration. I also participated as associate guest editor of the special issue on ‘Montane Rangelands in a Changing World’ in the journal African Journal of Range & Forage Science.
