Dr Udesh Pillay

The UFS Business School, one of a few boutique Business Schools in South Africa, has a proud tradition of offering rigorous programs in the field of Business and Management Sciences. The School is proud of its recent attempts to recurriculate its program offerings; decolonise its overall agenda; and reposition itself through a process of renewal and innovation in teaching, learning, and research. The Business School is determined to become a nationally responsive entity that promotes global excellence in the field of Business and Management Sciences. The School is also committed to value-creation through advanced innovation and the development of productive entrepreneurship, especially among our youth. To that effect, the Business School is repositioning itself to make a more meaningful practical contribution to the SME sector in particular, one in which opportunity-driven initiatives (like the establishment of incubation services and start-up creation initiatives) complement the formal offerings of the School. Ultimately, the idea is to enable a program of values-based leadership that will allow for continued excellence in content delivery and research output. The Business School also supports the overall objectives of the UFS going forward to increase its visibility and impact, while being people-centered and committed to the principles of social justice. The School’s new journey is an exciting one, and those students wishing to join our cross-section of programs and offerings will find themselves in a stimulating, inspiring and exciting knowledge-hub.
