Twelve graduate research projects were undertaken and completed by master's and PhD students between 2013 and 2017. 

They have been grouped as follows:

  1. gender and agency
  2. access to higher education
  3. curriculum and pedagogies
  4. disabilities
  5. quality 

There are overlaps in this grouping, for example quality overlaps with curriculum and pedagogies, as does disabilities, and in some ways most of the theses touch on issues of access, participation, and success in higher education.  All the studies draw on human development and the capability approach as a capacious theoretical framework for the research and analysis so that, together, the individual projects constitute a significant body of work on higher education, human development, and capabilities.
