Ekaete Elsie Benedict is an academic and entrepreneur. She holds a PhD in Business Management from the University of the Free State. Her teaching and research interests are in entrepreneurship and small business management with a specific interest in the growth and development of small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) in emerging economies. As an academic, she is interested in applying effective teaching and learning methods in tertiary education, as well as disseminating new information in her field of knowledge. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in providing her students with the information, tools and skills they need to be successful in a rapidly changing environment, which is increasingly becoming globalised and automated.
