Martha Harunavamwe: 

Highest Academic Qualification:  Ph.D. in Industrial Psychology ; Professional Registration at the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) Dr Harunavamwe  is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Industrial Psychologist . She is currently a senior lecturer in the Department of Industrial Psychology at the University of the Free State, where she lectures on Research Methodology at both undergraduate and post-graduate level. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

The position include four aspects, teaching and learning, research, scholarship of engagement then leadership and administration

Involved in lecturing and course development of industrial psychology modules including; Performance management, Research Methodology, third year and honours level, Research Statistics honours  and Masters 

Engaging in research projects in the faculty and publishing research articles

Presenting research papers at various national and international conference

Involvement with other universities/scientific institutions; External Examiner (Honours and Masters theses, dissertations & Academic modules) for various universities in South Africa

Faculty strategic planning (task-team leader for staff development and succession planning)

 

Research Interests

Positive Psychology: Psychological capital, (self-efficacy, optimism, resilience and hope) work engagement, positive retention, mindfulness, organisational citizenship behaviour.

Leadership: self-leadership, peace leadership, authentic leadership , transformational leadership

Currently working on wellbeing and work engagement in the context of the fourth Industrial Revolution in the banking sector (artificial intelligence, and automation in the banking sector).

Enjoy Statistical data analysis in  Quantitative Research including 

  • (SPSS – Advanced Practical Knowledge) (correlations, regression, t-tests, ANOVA and the non-parametric equivalent to these tests

  • LISREL (CFA) (basic knowledge)

  • Variance based Structural Equation Modelling (SmartPLS)

Also comfortable with Qualitative research and mixed method approach
