Subject Head: Postgraduate Studies and Research – Qwaqwa Campus (UFS) (1 January 2014 - 31 December 2016).

From 2011, I have been a member of the Sustainable Learning Environments/Sustainable Rural Learning Ecologies’ Committee. My duties have been to send calls for abstracts’ submissions, coordinating the reviewing process and the programme for the colloquia from 2011.

I have been a member of the Education Association South Africa (EASA) 2014 Conference Organising Committee. My duty has been to coordinate the process of reviewing of abstracts.

External moderator for the B Ed (Hons) Independent Research Project for the University of KwaZulu-Natal (from 2012 to date)

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

I am in a Community engagement project funded by NRF: 2014 is the second and final year of a partnership between the University of the Free State and the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Each of the campuses is engaged in four case studies.

I am a member in a two-year NRF funded project of an amount of more than R177 000 (2017-2018). The project, titled Sustainable urban-rural connections, is a result of a partnership between the Durban University of Technology and the University of the Free State [Grant No 104847].

I am in part of a three-year Collaborative Postgraduate Training programme (2017-2019). The University of Zululand is the leading institution, while the University of the free State and the University of Venda are partners in this initiative [Grant No 105246].
