Short CV

Evert Pistorius is a Classical Languages lecturer in the Department of Philosophy and Classics at the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein. He completed his BA in Ancient Languages (cum laude), BA Honours in Ancient Languages (cum laude), and MA in Ancient Languages - Latin at the North West University, Potchefstroom. He plans on registering for his PhD in early 2022.

Evert has held multiple part-time positions at the North West University, Potchefstroom. These positions include: Latin facilitator, Assistant lecturer for Botanical Latin, Locum lecturer for Legal Terminology and Roman Culture, Conference coordinator, Consultant Mentor, and Member of the Theological Student Association with portfolio: Vice Chairperson and Academics. He was also appointed as the Vice President of the Alliance Française de Bloemfontein from 2019 to 2020.

Evert has furthermore presented papers at the 32nd and 33rd Biennial Conference of the Classics Association of South Africa in 2017 and 2019 respectively.

Evert also holds multiple Academic Achievements:

Certificate for academic excellence for the degree Bachelor of Arts Honours in Ancient Languages (2016).

Achieved a joint first place in the Classical Association of South Africa`s national translation competition (2016).

Member of the Golden Key International Honour Society (2016).

Certificate for the successful completion of 80 hours of Professional Development from Septentrionale Americanum Latinitatis Vivae Institutum (2016).

Certificate for academic excellence for the degree Bachelor of Arts in Ancient Languages (2015).

Certificate for Honorary Colours for Bachelor of Arts (2015).

Certificate for academic excellence in Latin (2014).
