-  First Magister Artium degree (research-based) in Language Studies (English Literature) obtained with distinction at the University of the Free State in 2011.  Dissertation title: Imagining the mad woman: applying concepts of the narrative imagination, psychoanalytic and feminist theory to The bell jar and selected poems by Sylvia Plath. http://scholar.ufs.ac.za:8080/xmlui/handle/11660/2086 

-  Second Magister Artium degree (partly structured, partly research-based) in Arts, Culture & Media: Film Studies, at University of Groningen, the Netherlands with distinction in 2012. Dissertation title: Affirmative aberrations in South Africa?  Towards an investigation of possible effects in Neil Blomkamp’s District 9 and selected works of Nandipha Mntambo
