Mrs. Angelique Novella receives her B.Mus. qualification from the University of the Free State in 2008 with piano as first instrument and violin as second instrument. Specialising in Music Education, she receives her B.Mus. Honors (cum laude) qualification in 2010 under the tutelage of Mrs. G. Pretorius. Her career as music teacher starts in 2011 at the Christelike en Nasionale Primêre Meisieskool Oranje. Here she teaches individual instrumental lessons for piano, violin, recorder and guitar, as well as the string ensemble and Gr.1 to 3 junior choir. During her time at Oranje Primêr, her junior choir receives six consecutive Gold Awards at the ATKV National Choir Competition. In July of 2017 she is appointed as junior-lecturer in Music Education and Practice at the Odeion School of Music at the University of the Free State. With a specific interest in how bodily movement can assist in the teaching and learning process, she attends workshops in Orff and Dalcroze pedagogical approaches regularly. In her search to validate and realize an embodied holistic approach towards beginner instrumental instruction she receives her M.Mus degree in music education at the UFS in 2022. Her passion for and dedication to her students and music education takes the lead in her teaching approach.
