MUSP3712 The aim of this module is to expand the student’s knowledge regarding instrument specific repertoire in order to handle any type of pupil or situation like general progress, competitions, examinations or specific technical problems that may occur. The first semester applies to beginner books, as well as repertoire from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic period (where applicable to the instrument).
MUSP3716 This module comprises studies in instrumental/vocal proficiency through engagement with musical repertoire. MUSP3716 represents study of a first instrument with the artistic and technical command equating UNISA Teacher’s Licentiate (or LTCL; LRSM).
MUSP3722 MUSP 3722 is a continuation of MUSP3712. It applies to the repertoire of the Impressionistic and Modern style periods (as applicable to the instrument). The levels of difficulty are of importance. Another aspect of this module is the practical application of knowledge in a concrete lesson situation where students will teach pupils under the guidance of their own lecturers. Students will also observe lessons by expert teachers.
