Programme 2: Critical Studies in Higher Education Transformation


This research programme focuses on critical analyses of higher-education transformation that study inclusion and exclusion in relation to:

  1. The social structure of the academy
  2. The power relations embedded within the organisation of knowledge, its disciplines, and disciples 
  3. The construction of professional and student identities 
  4. The regulation of student life and voice, staff and student access and success 
  5. The mechanics of authority within knowledge-generation processes, research subjects, objects, topics, and trends 
  6. Pedagogical typologies 
  7. The interplay between pedagogy, research, and institutional culture
  8. The connextionist dynamics between higher education and the state, private sector, interest groups, pressure formations, and broader society
