Short CV

Christopher is an admitted and practising legal practitioner of the High Court, currently employed by the UFS Law Clinic as an attorney focusing on community engagement, research, moot courts, and clinical legal education. Christopher holds an LL.B (UFS) and Court-Annexed Mediation Certificate (UFS) and is currently completing his LL.M in Constitutional Law studying student protest at higher education institutions.

The legal practice and higher education environments allowed Christopher to build up experience and networks in the pro-poor practice of law, higher education, and student training. Christopher represented indigent clients in several matters and contributed to public interest litigation, including the UFS Law Clinic’s application to the Supreme Court of Appeal to act as Amicus Curiae in FirstRand Bank Limited t/a Wesbank v Davel. Christopher has presented courses in Criminal Procedure, Health Care Law, and UFS101 at the UFS Faculty of Law and Center for Teaching and Learning. He contributes to student development through presentations and training on legal research, legal drafting, oral argumentation, and clinical legal education.

With more than three years post-qualification experience in the pro bono legal services and higher education setting, Christopher uses what he has learnt in practice and studies to improve access to justice in South Africa, to empower vulnerable communities and inspire law students.
