Corporate Finance and Accounting for Lawyers and Other Professionals

Through the course of their careers, law graduates find themselves dealing with corporate finance issues that are generally left out the law curriculum. Finance and law are co-constituted and, therefore, a fundamental understanding of corporate finance will be beneficial to legal practitioners. The University of Free State Faculty of Law and the ILI-South African Centre for Excellence (ILI-SACE) are presenting an innovative corporate finance short learning programme aimed at presenting salient elements of corporate finance to practising lawyers. This eight-week programme, which is facilitated by the UFS School of Financial Planning Law, will enable law graduates to gain a working knowledge of the important elements of corporate finance that is relevant for their practices.

The goal of the programme is to enable the participant to acquire fundamental knowledge in corporate finance relevant to legal practitioners.
