Short CV

Dr. Alice Brink completed her M.Sc. in 2007 working on rhodium homogeneous catalytic systems. She obtained her Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry in 2012, at the University of the Free State, supervised by Prof A Roodt,  researching rhenium tricarbonyl complexes as model complexes for  radiopharmaceutical drug development with focus on the structural, kinetic reaction mechanisms and biological properties.

She is a Senior Lecturer in Inorganic Chemistry since January 2016 and manager of Chemistry’s Crystallographic Laboratory. Her main research focus is utilising crystallography in organometallic and inorganic chemistry focusing on radiopharmaceutical drug development. She has made several research visits to University of Lund, Sweden and University of Zurich, Switzerland. An established collaboration with the University of Manchester investigates the coordination of organometallic complexes with proteins utilising protein crystallography.
