My current research focusses on the vertical and lateral isotope variation within the different stratigraphic layers of the Flatreef i.e. down dip, sub-horizontal extension of the Platreef in the northern lobe of the Bushveld Complex. The aim is establish whether the Flatreef correlates with the Merensky and Bastard Cyclic Units of the western and eastern lobes of the Bushveld Complex.
