The Association of Quantity Surveyors (ASAQS) annually awards the association's Gold Medal to the best student (in Quantity Surveying) in all the tertiary institutions of South Africa. The department is proud to have claimed this award for the University of the Free State seventeen times. Nine of the UFS recipients were ladies.
