Research activities focus on holistic plant health management in an above-ground – below-ground multitrophic interaction context. Artificial vs. natural compost analyses and their role in plant health also form part of the larger research strategy. Research is conducted in close collaboration with plant pathology and in this regard soil ecology studies include analysis of arthropod–arthropod, arthropod –plant, arthropod–microbe, and arthropod–microbe–plant relationships.
