Student life is not only about studies and obtaining a qualification. It is also an opportunity for students to take part in and contribute to cultural activities on and off campus. The activities guide students to develop the responsibility and values that will allow them to assume roles of leadership and service in society.

The activities cover a spectrum of disciplines – from the arts, sports and games to intellectual engagement.

Some of the programmes are:

  • The Green Campus Initiative drives towards transforming residences into environmentally friendly spaces.
  • The musical Oliver Theatre Production celebrates South African leaders.
  • In Celebrating Creatives, tribute is paid to creative individuals who have passed on and those on the rise.
  • The Morwetsana Seminar focuses on the empowerment of women, while the Yamabutho Seminar does the same for men.
  • The Spoken Word Evening is filled with poetry, comedy and motivation.
  • Students can also participate in the Mental Games Olympics, residence committee leadership training and the Leaders, not Hooligans Summit.
  • Various choirs enrich student life on campus and in the region.
