  Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ)

(Upload Vaccine Certficate, PCR test or apply for exemption)

If you are struggling to locate your vaccination code to download/obtain your vaccination certificate from the DoH COVID-19 Vaccinne Certificate Sysem please contact the national COVID-19 Public Hotline on 0800 029 999

On 26 November 2021, the UFS Council approved the COVID-19 Regulations and Required Vaccination Policy, which was implemented on 9 December 2021. In support of the policy, a new campus access system was activated on the same day (9 December 2021).

The University of the Free State strives to ensure that access to campuses is a seamless process. It is a requirement for staff/students and persons working on campuses to be vaccinated, to upload a negative SARS (COVID-19) PCR or Antigen test here: https://www.ufs.ac.za/covid19screening/Entry on a weekly basis if they are not vaccinated, or to have an approved exemption from the Vaccination Exemption Committee in order to access campus. Visitors to the campuses should be vaccinated to gain access to campuses.

The online facility where staff and students must upload their official vaccination certificate issued by the Department of Health (i.e., the original PDF as issued by the South African COVID-19 vaccine certificate system), or obtain and upload an application for exemption form, is available here: https://www.ufs.ac.za/covid19screening/Entry

COVID-19 negative PCR or Antigen test should be uploaded on Fridays by 10:00 to give staff at Kovsie Health enough time to evaluate and approve the tests. The COVID-19 Rapid Antigen test can also be used to obtain access to campus.
