Administration Summary

Overview of your SASSE administration, including response rates and characteristics of respondents.

Snapshot

Four-page summary of your institution’s key findings.

Engagement indicators

Engagement indicators provide a useful summary of the detailed information contained in your students’ SASSE responses. By combining responses to related SASSE questions, each engagement indicator offers valuable information about a distinct aspect of student engagement. Ten indicators, based on three to eight survey questions each (a total of 47 survey questions), are organised into four themes.

High-impact practices report

Due to their positive associations with student learning and retention, certain undergraduate opportunities are designated 'high-impact'. High-impact practices share several traits: They demand considerable time and effort, facilitate learning outside of the classroom, require meaningful interactions with staff and students, encourage collaboration with diverse others, and provide frequent and substantive feedback. This report provides information on

  • Participation in student societies (law, psychology, etc.) where students engage in topics related to their modules/subjects;
  • Modules/subjects that include a community-based project (service-learning);
  • Work with a lecturer on a research project; and
  • Practical work related to students' studies (internship, work-integrated learning, clinical placement, field experience, etc.).
Unlike most questions on the SASSE survey, the questions relating to high-impact practices are not limited to the current academic year. Thus, seniors' responses include participation from prior academic years.

Frequencies and statistical comparisons

The Frequencies and Statistical Comparisons Report is based on information from all respondents for both your institution and your comparison institutions.

Respondent characteristics

This section of the report provides an overview of how accurately a sample of respondents represents an institution’s actual student population. Your sample is compared with the total sample of students who responded nationally and with samples of similar institutional types. This data is not weighted.
