Formal Programmes operates from the beautiful UFS South Campus situated on the outskirts of Bloemfontein – city of roses. We teach and support our students at more than 50 learning centres all over the country.

What is Formal Programmes all about? Formal Programmes delivers qualification programmes to distance learning students in seven (7) provinces of South Africa. These programmes are:

  • National Professional Diploma in Education (NPDE) – phasing out
  • Advanced Certificate in Education (ACE) – phasing out
  • Advanced Certificate in Teaching (ACT)

The new and exciting ACT programme is presented in both a blended learning mode as well as a 100% online mode.

Formal Programmes is also responsible for the administrative activities of the partnership LLB programme, which the UFS Faculty of Law delivers at seven (7) Varsity College campuses.

Formal Programmes consists of the following sub-divisions:

  • Assessment Centre
  • Distance Learning Marketing
  • Language Editing and Translation
  • Material Development, Printing, and Distribution
  • ACT Online
  • RPL Office
  • Tender Projects
