A Theology qualification can steer you towards community development, counselling, charity work, missionary work, publishing, and research, to name a few. In addition to discovering possibilities, students felt encouraged to work towards their goals. “I have learned to know my worth and work hard to reach my dream and to put more focus on my goals,” one attendee commented.

The session kicked off with a testimony from Reverend Marlene Oosthuizen, Programme Director in the Faculty of Theology at the UFS, who shared how she found her purpose in Christ.

This was followed by Belinda Janeke from UFS Career Services, who gave career advice and how students can get their CVs into the market.

Another attraction was the Career Closet display. The Career Closet is a Career Services initiative that provides casual and professional clothing appropriate for interviews at no cost to students. UFS staff and students who feel inspired are urged to donate good quality office wear for this initiative. We all have clothes in our closets that we no longer wear – this can change the world for a student going for a job interview.

As always, students appreciated the value of this event. “I have learned many things about being responsible for my future and how to be ready for the outside world and the workplace.”

Be sure to follow all UFS Career Services communication platforms to make sure that you find the key to unlock your future too.
