On 21 July 2022, the University of the Free State Career Services presented a masterclass for students from the Faculty of Education in the Albert Wessels Auditorium. This event was the culmination of a series of pre-recorded sessions offered to Education students. The theme centred around workwear, etiquette, and making a good impression.

This colourful masterclass was presented by Dr Nthabeleng Ramille, a professional personal branding coach who believes that a good personal brand is represented by a good image. As a qualified stylist, she helps her clients to look the part. She is a sought-after speaker with a global footprint and shared her valuable knowledge with attendees. “Your personal brand is a promise to your clients. Dressing well not only benefits you in the workplace, but it is also a form of selfcare and nudges you to pay attention to detail. In addition, it helps to build consistency in your day as part of a set routine. You can also expect increased confidence and creativity. This small act to start your day can benefit you during the rest of your day.

Attendees could also browse through the Career Closet, a Career Services initiative that provides casual and professional clothing appropriate for interviews at no cost to students.

Participants were thrilled about the Career Closet and learnt that the way they dress says a lot about the kind of person they are. “So, you must dress the way you want to be addressed!” one mentioned. Look out for more communication from the UFS Career Services to join their next intervention.
