The university strives to support students in all their academic endeavours. Academic advice is a continuous process through which students can receive support and advice in order to progress better through their higher education careers. This is a teaching and learning process where staff and student engagement play an equal role. However, it remains the responsibility of the student to attend to his/her academic needs.

ACADEMIC ADVICE: BEFORE REGISTRATION

  • e-Learning students who study in the Faculty of Law can contact C Nel at +27 51 401 2433 or at nelc1@ufs.ac.za, or alternatively RV van der Ross can be contacted at +27 51 401 3532 or at vanderrossrv@ufs.ac.za.
  • Approved distance tuition students in the programmes BSc (Quantity Surveying) and BSc (Construction Management) can contact the department at BremerT@ufs.ac.za
  • Students experiencing problems with modules not appearing on / accepted by the electronic self-service process should contact their faculty advisor to resolve these problems. (e-Learning and distance education students must contact the relevant person, as mentioned above).

NB: All students in the Faculty of Health Sciences (School for Medicine and the School for Allied Health Professions) are registered automatically by the faculty once confirmation of payment has been received and the student has been accepted.
