The registration period is from 2 to 11 September 2020 on the Bloemfontein Campus, 205 Nelson Mandela Drive, Park West. Services will be available at the Examination Center.

If you need assistance with the following, you can report to the Examination Center:

  • Submission of any outstanding documentation regarding your admission for study;
  • Changing your qualification for which you applied and received an offer (i.e. changing from Bachelor of Commerce to Bachelor of Arts);
  • Submission of copies of study permits and medical aid for foreign students.

What do you need to have with you?                

  • Your active student number
  • The deposit advice/receipt with regard to:
    • Required prescribed prepayment (deposit) of tuition fees, or proof of a reserved bursary/loan, or one already granted.
  • If applicable:
    • Proof of prepayment for residence fees.
    • Proof of the levy amount payable by international students.
  • International students who will be attending lectures/work sessions mainly on campus must be in possession of the following:
    • A study permit already issued for studies at the University of the Free State, with a copy thereof.
    • A valid passport for studying at the University of the Free State.
    • Proof of full medical coverage for the duration of the studies – also applicable to students with permanent residence permits and asylum seekers.
    • Yellow card: proof of immunisation.

The academic advisors of the various faculties will only be available for certain periods during the registration process. You will have to report to the relevant faculty for assistance on the day as scheduled in the following academic advice program.

  • Search the programme for your faculty:
  • Academic advice is offered during the week of 2- 11 September 2020.

Once you have received academic advice you will be referred to the Examination Centre (located next to the Callie Human Hall) for the online enrollment process.

Proceed to Examination Room 6 (EXR 6) to do the registration (enrolment) for your modules (courses)
Proceed to EXR 6 where an assistant will guide you to a computer to assist you with the registration changes process.

Please note: If you need to reset your password or create a new one as the previous expired please first report to EXR 6 for assistance.

NB: Postponement of registration will not be granted if proof of documentation is not available in time. In this regard it must be stressed that international students should be in possession of the required documents before reporting for registration.
