Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown restrictions, please note that second-semester registration changes will take place remotely and online. Please refer to the self-service step for more information.

What do you need to have with you?                

  • Your active student number
  • If applicable:
    • Proof of prepayment for residence fees.
    • Proof of the levy amount payable by international students.
  • International students who will be attending lectures/work sessions mainly on campus must be in possession of the following:
    • A study permit already issued for studies at the University of the Free State, with a copy thereof.
    • A valid passport for studying at the University of the Free State.
    • Proof of full medical coverage for the duration of the studies – also applicable to students with permanent residence permits and asylum seekers.
    • Yellow card: proof of immunisation.

The academic advisors of the various faculties will only be available for assistance . You will have to contact your relevant faculty for assistance:

  • Academic advice is offered during the week of 3- 11 September 2020.

NB: Postponement of registration will not be granted if proof of documentation is not available in time. In this regard it must be stressed that international students should be in possession of the required documents before reporting for registration.
