Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Convocation of the University of the Free State (UFS) to deal with the following matters:

- Election of the President and Vice-President of the Convocation.
- Address by the elected President.
- Representatives of the Convocation on the Executive Committee of the Convocation.
- Vote of thanks by the Vice-President.

Judge Hefer elected as President of the UFS Convocation

Judge Joos Hefer was last week elected as new President of the Convocation of the University of the Free State (UFS). More than 100 old Kovsies and staff members were present at the meeting to elect a new president. The convocation is representative of all persons who have obtained a university qualification at the UFS, as well as a certain group of academic and support service staff members. Judge Hefer was elected in the place of Prof. François Retief, former Rector of the UFS.
