Mark your calendar: The Faculty of Law's Human Rights celebration is approaching!
In commemoration of Human Rights Day, the Faculty of Law at the University of the Free State (UFS) is marking the occasion with a series of special events. These include a panel discussion titled Contribution of Sir Kentridge to Human Rights in South Africa and Beyond, and a public lecture titled Thirty Years of Human Rights in South Africa? Any Reason to Celebrate? – delivered by Emeritus Constitutional Court Justice Albie Sachs, promising a day of profound reflection and insight.

Five Kovsies included in the SA Top 30 group

The Free State netball team, which only consists of players from the University of the Free State (UFS), recently returned from the SPAR National Netball Championships that were held in Port Elizabeth.
According to Ms Burta de Kock from KovsieSport at the UFS, the team, where five first-year players were included, brought back home a bronze medal when they ended third out of the eleven teams who participated.
Five of the Kovsie players were also included in the SA Top 30 group. They are Doretha Joubert, Sane du Preez, Adele Niemand, Anja Opperman and Elzet Engelbrecht.
