Protest by contract workers on the Bloemfontein Campus
2016-02-18
State of our campuses #3
A group of mostly contract workers protested on the Bloemfontein Campus of the University of the Free State (UFS) this morning demanding to be insourced. The protest took place in an orderly way and no disruptions occurred on the campus. Members of the South African Police Service and the university’s Protection Service were present at all times. The protest took place without prior arrangement with the university management and despite the ongoing, structured negotiations forum on outsourcing/insourcing.
