Master of Arts (Drama and Theatre Arts)

Information

The MA (Drama and Theatre Arts) degree can only be obtained through a dissertation. Students must agree upon a topic with the academic head of department or a supervisor (appointed by academic head of department), and must produce a dissertation of merit.

Admission requirements

In addition to the requirements as presented in 1.4 under General Information of the Faculty of The Humanities Rule Book, the following also applies:

  • Applicants must have an appropriate Exit Level 8 qualification with an average mark of at least 65%.
  • Prospective applicants should also provide the department with a 1500-word essay, outlining the intended research topic.
  • The study must be planned in conjunction with the academic head of department.
  • Applicants may only register after the AHD or Programme Director has issued a letter of approval for their admission and the selected research topic.
