Promoting Zambian and Southern Africa Research Output: Publishing, Mentoring, and Grant-Writing Workshop

The Copperbelt University (Zambia), the University of Dundee (UK), and the University of the Free State (South Africa), with funding from the British Academy, will be holding a two-day Journal- and Grant-Writing workshop at the Garden Court Hotel in Kitwe, Zambia, from 2 to 3 September 2020.

The workshop is targeted at early-career scholars in the Humanities and Social Sciences who are based in Southern Africa. The interactive and collaborative workshop will give participants the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge to develop high-quality publications for international journals with an assigned mentorship team. Furthermore, there will be sessions providing detailed insights and knowledge into the grant-capture process to assist participants in their applications for research funding.

The deadline for the submission of initial applications is Friday 10 April 2020. If successful, applicants will be asked to submit a first draft of an article of 6 000 to 8 000 words by Friday 12 June 2020.

Please refer directly to the call for papers for more details about the workshop and the application process.

All applications should be sent to Tari Gwena by email: gwenat@ufs.ac.za
