Two white women are in the process of adopting a black child. The process is driven by Dirkie, a sociology lecturer, who wants to create a home and a legacy and feels very strongly that their political duty is to contribute to the rainbow nation. Hester is a free spirit, and after a visit to her hometown in the country, she starts to question her identity and contemplate her roots and where she fits in.
Hester and Dirkie’s marriage is tested as each desperately clings to her own principles and realises they have vastly different dreams and ambitions. This drama explores relationships, the “me” versus “us”, ambitions and dreams.
