Our Vision
The vision of the SRC International Office is to empower international students to thrive academically, socially, and culturally, while embracing diversity and bridging the gaps between different local and global cultures. The SRC: International Office is also responsible for providing information to international students, being the voice in the SRC, and strategically driving institutional initiatives to reach the internationalisation objectives of the SRC and the UFS.
Our Mission
The SRC: International Office’s mission is to become an efficient and value-adding portfolio that strives to serve the needs of the international student community and ensure the enrichment of the broader student community in close collaboration with the Office for International Affairs.
International Student Associations
The International Office strives for diversity and inclusion and amplifies the voices of international students, which is achieved by building a community and home for international students. The international student associations serve to bridge the gaps that separate local students from international students.

Chairperson of the Zimbabwean Students Association (ZIMSA): Portia Musendekwa
Our mission is to cultivate a vibrant community of Zimbabwean students who celebrate our rich cultural heritage while striving for academic excellence.
Our purpose:
We are committed to preserving and promoting Zimbabwean culture through various events and activities. ZIMSA prioritises leadership development, empowering members, and fostering integration with other cultural groups within the university. We strive to create an enriching experience for all Zimbabwean students.

Chairperson of the International Students Association (ISA): Ndabezintle Moyo
Our vision is to become the core hub of all international student associations at the UFS.
Our purpose
To enhance the experience of international students while studying at the University of the Free State. To help integrate incoming exchange students and provide them with a support network.

Chairperson of the West African Student Association (WASA): Blossom Orjiako
The association aims to amalgamate and serve West African students at the University of the Free State, creating unity and a sense of camaraderie among them.
Our purpose
The association is founded on the fundamental right of freedom of association, camaraderie, and respect. The official language used in the association and the administration thereof will be English, due to the various home languages of the members.

Chairperson of the Lesotho Students Association (LESA): Tebello Putsoane
To empower and unite Basotho students at the UFS, fostering a supportive community that promotes academic excellence, cultural pride, and professional development.
Our purpose
Providing a platform for Basotho students to connect, share experiences, and support each other on their academic journeys. Promoting understanding and appreciation of Basotho culture within the broader South African context.
