Short CV

With more than two decades of experience, Lindie has in-depth practical knowledge and expertise in the field of agriculture and its many facets. Farming together with her husband in the Eastern Free State province of South Africa, she understands the challenges and opportunities that agriculture presents. She has competence in leadership, management, teaching, research, project planning, implementation and monitoring, and business planning. She has designed and executed several agricultural value chain and development projects and has expertise in the marketing of agricultural produce, both local and international. She has completed numerous agricultural feasibility studies for an extended client base in the agricultural and business sectors, encompassing an extensive range of produce and enterprises. She has experience writing and presenting funding proposals to different stakeholders and has exceptional human relations and team-building skills. She is lecturing in the field of agricultural economics to undergraduate students and supervising postgraduate students. She has published articles in reputable scientific journals. She is presently involved in multi-country research projects from which she will be able to publish more articles. Her research experience to date includes investigating the drought resilience of female farmers as well as appropriate curricula development for higher education institutes in Africa offering agricultural advisory training.
