Start your engineering sciences journey at the UFS


Engineering


The University of the Free State Group of Engineering Sciences offers a 3-year BSc degree majoring in Physics and Engineering subjects. Completing this programme equip graduates with a degree in physics, with the addition of the fundamentals of engineering studies and applied sciences.

Graduates can then choose to:
  • enter the employment market, or
  • continue with further postgraduate studies

Undergraduate Studies

To qualify you should achieve the following in the final NSC or equivalent examination:
  • Total AP score of 30 or more, and
  • AP score of 6 or higher in Mathematics, and
  • AP score of 5 or higher in Physical Science,and
  • AP score of 4 or more in language of instruction, and
  • Completion of the National Benchmark Test (NBT)
