The Transformers recently hosted an evening event for student couples on campus. The aims of this event were to:-
- Market the Transformers programme
- Educate individuals and initiate dialogue on how to help respond to the HIV epidemic
- Encourage couples to openly speak about issues affecting them and make them aware of their role in responding to the HIV epidemic
- Encourage faithfulness in relationships
- Test the level of HIV knowledge amongst students
The evening included a series of fun quizzes and activities which encouraged learning. An HIV knowledge quiz started the proceedings of the evening and the students were given the opportunity to discuss the questions that they got wrong. A short video produced by the Transformers was then played and was followed by a discussion.
Mrs Lerato Makhele facilitated a question-and-answer session, highlighting the importance of communication and its relevance in HIV prevention.
