Students can contact CUADS to make an appointment. It is best to do this before the start of the semester, especially if academic support and/or accessible study material formats or other accommodations are required. During a first appointment it will be required to provide medical documentation from an appropriate health professional depending on the nature of the disability.
In order to identify appropriate services, CUADS staff will need to develop a more complete picture of a student to ascertain the kind of physical, academic, administrative, and student life support that is required. A specific staff member will be allocated to establish this relationship. The goal of most consultations between students and the CUADS staff is to identify the impact of a disability in different environments and maximise opportunities for equitable and independent participation. Students will also be monitored during the course of his/her studies to identify any possible solutions or additional support that might be needed.
